An opportunity for ecosystems

We are aware of an opportunity to significantly increase the protection for ecosystems worldwide, which, if professionally developed, could help many of our shared goals to succeed.

Based on an existing treaty, an “international law for ecosystems” is a realistic possibility for which there is an international precedent. Of major symbolic significance, it could change the way that many people think about nature and accelerate the adoption of sustainable, renewable solutions around the world. However, it has never been fully assessed, so we are seeking assistance to evaluate and potentially develop it.

If your organisation might be able to support or even consider leading the evaluation, we would be grateful for the opportunity of working with you. We are open to alternative approaches, however, a very brief introduction into our current thinking, and why it could be of such significance is attached.

We trust that this proposal will be of interest to many of our fellow organisations in the GCCA, so we look forward to hearing from you.
